The best AI agent courses online come in six formats, and my number one pick is the AI Profit Boardroom, which is a Skool community with live coaching, 3,400+ members and my installable Agent OS inside.
I'm Julian Goldie, and I need to say plainly that this is my own list, so my own community and my own free courses sit at the top of it.
Every third-party course below is real, and I checked each one on the provider's own page on 13 October 2026.
This post is the operator's version, so each format comes with what you get, whether a certificate is offered, whether there is live help, who it suits and the exact first steps to start it.
My Top 3 Picks At A Glance
- 🥇 The AI Profit Boardroom is my pick for community plus live coaching, and it is my own paid Skool community.
- 🥈 AI Money Lab is my pick for a free community, and it is also mine.
- 🥉 My free YouTube full courses are my pick for learning by watching, starting with How to Build Agent OS.
The best third-party starting point is the free Hugging Face AI Agents Course, which I cover in the open courses section.
The Six Online Formats In One Table
This table compares the formats, because the format decides how you learn far more than the brand name does.
| Format | Example picks | What you get | Certificate | Live help | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Community plus live coaching | AI Profit Boardroom | You get courses, an installable Agent OS and four coaching calls a week. | No certificate is advertised. | Yes, there are four live calls a week. | Business owners who want answers on real problems. |
| Free community | AI Money Lab | You get free AI courses, free tools and a community feed. | No certificate is advertised. | You get help from the community feed. | Beginners who want to start without paying. |
| Self-paced platforms | Coursera, DeepLearning.AI, Udemy | You get structured video lessons you take on your own schedule. | Coursera and DeepLearning.AI both describe certificates on their pages. | The course pages I read do not promise live teaching. | People who want structure and a credential. |
| Free open courses | Hugging Face, Microsoft on GitHub, Microsoft Learn | You get written lessons, code and notebooks you can read for free. | Hugging Face says its certificates are free. | Hugging Face and Microsoft both point learners to Discord. | Developers who learn by running code. |
| YouTube full courses | My Agent OS course and my Hermes full course | You get one long video you can follow from start to finish. | YouTube videos do not come with a certificate. | There is no live help beyond the comments. | People who want to see the whole build first. |
| Vendor academies | Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, LangChain | You get lessons written by the company that makes the tool. | It depends on the vendor, and I list what each one says below. | OpenAI Academy lists live events. | People who have already chosen a tool. |
I have not taken every third-party course on this page, so I describe what each provider states rather than pretending I tested them all.
I left out prices for third-party courses because they change, and I do not state a price for my own community here either.
How I Ranked These AI Agent Courses Online
I used four checks, and I applied the same four to every format.
- I checked that the course is live today on the provider's own page.
- I checked what the provider says about certificates, and I only repeat what the page states.
- I checked whether a real person can answer your question when you get stuck.
- I checked how fast a beginner can go from joining to running one working agent.
My own teaching approach is the lens for the last check.
I teach people to start with one agent doing one job, to use free models first, and to build towards an Agent Operating System once the first agent works.
Format 1: Community Plus Live Coaching On Skool
My pick: the AI Profit Boardroom, which I run.
A community course gives you lessons, people and live calls in one place.
Inside the Boardroom you get my installable Agent OS, four coaching calls a week and courses on Hermes Agent, Grok Bot, DeepSeek Harness, Claude Opus 5.5 and Jev AI.
FatRank named it the #1 AI community after testing 27 communities.
Certificate: I do not advertise a certificate, because the goal is a working system in your business.
Live help: You can bring a real problem to four live coaching calls every week.
Best for: This format suits business owners who learn faster when they can ask a person.
Here is how I would start as an operator.
- Join from the public about page and open the Classroom before anything else.
- Pick one course that matches one job in your business.
- Install the Agent OS before you watch anything else, so every lesson has somewhere to land.
- Put the next coaching call in your calendar and write down one question for it.
- Post your first working agent in the community and ask what you should fix.
If Skool is new to you, my best Skool courses post explains how the Classroom, Calendar and Community tabs work.
🔥 Want live help while you learn AI agents? Inside the AI Profit Boardroom, you get my installable Agent OS, courses on Hermes Agent, Grok Bot, DeepSeek Harness, Claude Opus 5.5 and Jev AI, four coaching calls a week and 3,400+ members. → Join the AI Profit Boardroom
Format 2: A Free Community
My pick: AI Money Lab, which is also mine.
AI Money Lab is my free Skool community, and its about page lists a free AI community, free AI courses and 50+ free AI tools.
It is the lowest-risk way to find out whether you enjoy learning inside a community.
Certificate: No certificate is advertised.
Live help: The help comes from the community feed, where members answer each other's questions.
Best for: This format suits complete beginners and anyone who wants to test the water for free.
I would join from the about page, take the first lesson the same day and post one question in the feed.
Format 3: Self-Paced Course Platforms
Self-paced platforms give you a fixed syllabus that you work through on your own schedule.
Coursera
The AI Agent Developer Specialization on Coursera is from Vanderbilt University and is taught by Dr. Jules White.
Its page describes a six-course series at beginner level with a flexible schedule and a shareable certificate.
The page also says that financial aid is available.
DeepLearning.AI
Agentic AI on DeepLearning.AI is taught by Andrew Ng.
The page says the course is self-paced and covers reflection, tool use, planning and multi-agent workflows.
It says you should have intermediate Python skills to follow the code.
It also says the certificate comes with the DeepLearning.AI Pro membership, and that you can audit the videos for free without a certificate.
DeepLearning.AI also has short courses such as AI Agents in LangGraph, which is marked intermediate and taught by Harrison Chase and Rotem Weiss.
Udemy
Udemy is a marketplace where individual instructors sell their own courses, and I teach there myself.
Udemy's site blocked my automated check on 13 October 2026, so I am not naming or linking a specific agent course from it.
You should read the course page for the last updated date and for what it says about a certificate before you buy.
Certificate: Coursera and DeepLearning.AI both describe a certificate on the pages I linked.
Live help: The course pages I read do not promise live teaching, so you should plan to get help somewhere else.
Best for: This format suits people who want a clear syllabus and something to show an employer.
Here is how I would start.
- Read the syllabus and the level before you enrol.
- Block three fixed sessions a week in your calendar, because self-paced courses stall without a schedule.
- Build each exercise on your own machine instead of only watching.
- Finish one course before you open a second one.
Format 4: Free Open Courses On GitHub, Hugging Face And Microsoft Learn
Open courses publish the lessons and the code in public, so you can start in the next five minutes.
Hugging Face AI Agents Course
The Hugging Face AI Agents Course describes itself as a free course that takes you from beginner to expert.
Its units cover an introduction to agents, the smolagents, LlamaIndex and LangGraph frameworks, a use case for agentic RAG and a final project where you create, test and certify your agent.
The page says the certification process is completely free, and it invites learners to join study groups on its Discord server.
Hugging Face also runs a free Model Context Protocol course, which it says was built in partnership with Anthropic.
Microsoft AI Agents for Beginners
AI Agents for Beginners is a Microsoft repository on GitHub under the MIT licence.
Its title describes 18 lessons to get started building AI agents.
The repository says each lesson has a written lesson, a short video and Python code samples.
It also points learners to a dedicated channel in the Microsoft Foundry Discord, and it says translations are available in 50+ languages.
The same course has a video series on Microsoft Learn.
Microsoft Learn
Microsoft Learn has a learning path called Develop AI agents on Azure, which the page lists as nine modules at intermediate level.
Certificate: Hugging Face states that its certificates are free, and I found no certificate claim on the Microsoft GitHub repository.
Live help: Both Hugging Face and Microsoft point you to Discord for questions.
Best for: This format suits developers and technical learners who want to read and run real code.
Here is how I would start.
- Open unit zero of the Hugging Face course and create the free account it asks for.
- Clone the Microsoft repository, and follow its note about cloning without translations to keep the download small.
- Run the first code sample before you read lesson two.
- Join the Discord server the course recommends on day one.

Format 5: YouTube Full Courses
A full course on YouTube is a single long video that takes you through a whole build.
My free course on the Agent OS is the video at the top of this page, and it is called How to Build Agent OS - FREE Course!.
My second free pick is my Hermes full course, which runs for two hours.
Certificate: YouTube videos do not come with a certificate.
Live help: There is no live help, so the comments are the only place to ask.
Best for: This format suits people who want to watch the complete build before they commit to anything.
Here is how I would start.
- Watch the first twenty minutes without touching your keyboard.
- Restart the video and build along with it, pausing after each step.
- Write down every prompt and command you use in one notes file.
- Stop when one agent does one job, and use that agent for a week.
Format 6: Vendor Academies
A vendor academy is training written by the company that makes the model or the framework.
- Claude Academy from Anthropic describes free courses, tutorials and use cases from its education team.
- The Anthropic course catalogue lists Claude Code 101, Claude Code in Action, Building with the Claude API, Introduction to Model Context Protocol, Introduction to agent skills and Introduction to subagents.
- The catalogue's own FAQ says the learning platform tracks your progress so that it can provide completion certificates.
- Google has a learning path called Agentic AI on Google Cloud on Google Skills, which the page lists as eight activities managed by Google Cloud.
- Google Skills says its paths can lead to skill badges, certificates and certifications.
- OpenAI Academy lists courses, communities and events, and its events include livestreams and on-demand sessions.
- OpenAI also has a Building agents track on its developer site.
- LangChain Academy says its self-paced course content is always free and that its certification exam is the paid part.
Certificate: Anthropic mentions completion certificates, Google Skills describes badges and certificates, and LangChain sells a certification exam.
Live help: OpenAI Academy lists live events, and the other pages I read are self-paced.
Best for: This format suits people who have already picked Claude, Gemini, OpenAI or LangGraph and want the official method.
I would pick the vendor whose model you already use every day and take its shortest introductory course first.

How To Combine Two Formats
One format rarely covers everything, so I recommend pairing one source of content with one source of help.
| Your situation | Content format | Help format | Why the pair works |
|---|---|---|---|
| You are a beginner with no budget. | You follow a YouTube full course. | You ask questions in a free community. | You watch the build and you still have people to ask. |
| You are a business owner short on time. | You use the courses inside a coaching community. | You bring problems to the live calls. | You get lessons and answers in one place. |
| You are a developer. | You work through a free open course. | You use the course Discord. | You get code to run and peers who run the same code. |
| You want a credential. | You take a self-paced platform course. | You join a community for practice. | You earn the certificate and you still build real things. |
| You have chosen one tool. | You take the vendor academy course. | You join a coaching community. | You learn the official method and then apply it to a business. |
A Four-Week Plan For Two Formats
This is the schedule I would follow with any pair from the table.
- In week one, you finish the first unit or the first hour of your content format.
- In week two, you build one agent that does one job, using a free model first.
- In week three, you take your hardest problem to your help format and fix it.
- In week four, you run the agent on real work every day and write down what breaks.
I teach one agent with one job first because a single working agent teaches you more than five half-built ones.
When the first agent is reliable, you add a second, and that is how an Agent OS grows.
