My pick for the best AI agent course 2026 is the AI Profit Boardroom, because new training goes in as new agent tools ship.
I need to be straight with you that this is my own list and the Boardroom is my own community.
I ranked every course here on one question, which is whether it teaches the agent stack people actually run in 2026.
I checked every third-party course on its own public page on 13 October 2026, and I only quote a date when the provider shows one.
Top 3 Picks At A Glance
- 🥇 The AI Profit Boardroom is my number one because it covers the whole 2026 agent stack and adds training as tools launch.
- 🥈 AI Money Lab is my free community, and it is the right first step if you have never run an agent.
- 🥉 Microsoft's AI Agents for Beginners is the third-party pick whose public lesson list covers the most 2026 topics.
How I Ranked The Best AI Agent Course 2026 Picks
I did not rank these on brand size or on how polished the videos look.
I ranked them on how current they are, because an agent course goes stale faster than almost any other kind of training.
These are the eight parts of the 2026 agent stack I looked for.
- I looked for agent harnesses, which means tools like Hermes Agent, Claude Code and OpenClaw that run the model for you.
- I looked for MCP, which is the Model Context Protocol that connects an agent to tools and data.
- I looked for skills, which are saved instructions an agent loads when a task needs them.
- I looked for computer use and browser agents, where the agent clicks and types for you.
- I looked for multi-agent work, including a Kanban board that several agents pull tasks from.
- I looked for memory, so an agent remembers your business between sessions.
- I looked for free and local models, because most everyday agent work does not need a paid frontier model.
- I looked for an agent OS dashboard, which is one screen where every agent lives.
I also looked for a date on the provider's own page, and I say so plainly when a page shows none.
I have not completed the third-party courses, so I describe what their public pages state and nothing more.

The 8 Best AI Agent Courses In 2026, Ranked
1. AI Profit Boardroom
This is my own community, and I am telling you that because I put it first.
The AI Profit Boardroom has 3,400+ members and four coaching calls a week.
It includes my installable Agent OS, plus courses on Hermes Agent, Grok Bot, DeepSeek Harness, Claude Opus 5.5 and Jev AI.
The Skool page does not show a last-updated date, so I will give you dated public evidence instead.
In the week before I wrote this, I published videos on Hermes plugins on 5 October, Solar Mini 4 on 6 October, Hark on 7 October, Herald OS on 8 October and MissingNo on 12 October.
The video notes and tool links for each of those go inside the Boardroom.
FatRank named it the #1 AI community after testing 27.
Best for: This suits operators who want the whole stack in one place with live help.
Cost: It is paid, and the current price is on the Skool page.
2. AI Money Lab
AI Money Lab is my free community, with a free AI course and 1,000 AI agents inside.
I also publish free long-form courses on YouTube, including "How to Build Agent OS - FREE Course!" and "Hermes FULL COURSE 2 HOURS".
The Skool page does not show a last-updated date.
Best for: This suits beginners who want to start without paying anything.
Cost: It is free.
3. Microsoft AI Agents For Beginners
AI Agents for Beginners is an open-source course from Microsoft on GitHub under the MIT licence.
Its lesson list includes agentic protocols such as MCP and A2A, multi-agent design, context engineering, agentic memory, computer use agents, local AI agents and securing agents.
That is the widest 2026 topic list I found on any third-party page.
The course page says the code samples use Microsoft Agent Framework with Microsoft Foundry, and that an Azure account is required for them.
The public repository showed its latest commit on 13 October 2026, and that commit was a translation merge.
A fresh commit tells you the repository is maintained, which is not the same as every lesson being rewritten.
Best for: This suits developers who want a broad, structured syllabus.
Cost: The course is open source, and the page lists an Azure account for the code samples.
4. Anthropic Academy
Anthropic Academy is Anthropic's own course site, and the courses I opened were labelled free.
Claude Code in Action lists plan mode, skills, permission modes, hooks, goal and loop runs, routines, headless mode and plugins.
Introduction to agent skills covers building and sharing skills, and it mentions wiring skills into subagents.
Introduction to Model Context Protocol teaches building MCP servers and clients in Python.
I could not find a last-updated date on those course pages, so I am not quoting one.
Best for: This suits people who build with Claude Code and want the maker's own material.
Cost: The pages I checked were labelled free.
5. DeepLearning.AI Agent Courses
DeepLearning.AI is the only third-party provider here that printed an "Updated" date on each course page I checked.
- Agent Skills with Anthropic is a beginner course, and its page said it was updated on 17 July 2026.
- Claude Code: A Highly Agentic Coding Assistant is an intermediate course, and its page said 17 August 2026.
- MCP: Build Rich-Context AI Apps with Anthropic is an intermediate course, and its page said 13 August 2026.
- Agentic AI is taught by Andrew Ng, and its page said 31 August 2026.
- Long-Term Agentic Memory With LangGraph covers agent memory, and its page said 17 July 2026.
Best for: This suits learners who like short, focused video courses with code.
Cost: Several pages showed a free enrol button, and certificates sit under the PRO membership.
6. Hugging Face AI Agents Course And MCP Course
The Hugging Face AI Agents Course describes itself as a free course that takes you from beginner to expert.
Its units cover the smolagents, LlamaIndex and LangGraph frameworks, agentic RAG and a final project with a certificate.
The Hugging Face MCP Course is free too, and its page says it was built in partnership with Anthropic.
Neither page prints a last-updated date, and both public repositories showed a latest commit on 6 October 2026, which was a documentation tooling update.
Best for: This suits people who want open-source frameworks and a certificate.
Cost: Both courses are described as free.
7. LangChain Academy
LangChain Academy says its course content is always free, and that the paid part is a certification exam.
Its featured Introduction to Deep Agents course teaches what an agent harness is, using LangChain's open-source harness.
The Introduction to LangGraph course covers agentic and multi-agent applications.
I did not see a last-updated date on the pages I read.
Best for: This suits developers who are building on LangChain, LangGraph or LangSmith.
Cost: The course content is free.
8. Microsoft MCP For Beginners
MCP for Beginners is an open-source MCP curriculum from Microsoft under the MIT licence.
Its description lists examples in .NET, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, Rust and Python.
The public repository showed its latest commit on 13 October 2026, and that commit was a dependency update.
Best for: This suits developers who want to go deep on MCP in their own language.
Cost: The curriculum is open source.

What Changed In AI Agents In 2026
This section comes from my own guides, so you can check every claim against them.
The first change is that the harness became the product.
Hermes Agent v0.20 shipped on 3 August 2026, and Nous Research called it the Herald Release.
My Hermes v0.20 guide covers voice you can interrupt, citations matched to the real page text, signed webhooks and the Agent-to-Agent protocol.
The same release raised the iteration ceiling from 90 to 500, and it added a one-line command that imports a Claude Code setup.
The second change is that agents now work on a timer inside the chat.
My Hermes /loop guide shows a loop that wakes up, checks the live state, reports back and stops itself.
A self-paced loop backs off from one minute to fifteen minutes while nothing changes.
The third change is computer use that runs in the background.
My computer use guide shows Hermes writing a note in the Notes app in under eight seconds without moving my cursor.
The same guide is honest that it struggled when I asked it to reorganise a whole Obsidian vault.
The fourth change is the agent OS.
My AI Agent OS guide builds one dashboard, one shared memory vault and one Kanban board that agents pull tasks from.
October 2026 added even more, and you can read my posts on Herald OS, the Hermes plugins marketplace and MissingNo.
Is This Course Outdated? Run This 10-Minute Check
You can run this check on any course before you spend an hour on it.
- Open the course page and look for a date the provider prints.
- Search the syllabus for MCP, because a 2026 course should at least mention it.
- Search the syllabus for skills, hooks or plugins.
- Check whether it teaches a harness such as Hermes Agent, Claude Code or OpenClaw, or only raw API calls.
- Check whether computer use or browser agents appear anywhere.
- Check whether memory gets its own lesson.
- Check whether more than one agent ever works on the same job.
- Check which models the lessons name, and whether a free or local model is an option.
- Check for scheduled or looping runs, because agents that only answer one prompt are the old way.
- Check whether a community or a live call exists for when your setup breaks.
A course that misses three or four of these can still teach good fundamentals.
You should simply know that you will need a second source for the missing parts.
How I Would Work Through A Current Course
I would start with one agent doing one job, because that is how I teach it.
I would do the task by hand with the agent before I automate it.
I would keep one profile per model, so switching models never breaks the setup.
I would start on free models and only pay when a job clearly needs more.
I would save every working process as a skill or a workflow the agent can run again.
I would add a second agent and a shared memory only after the first one earns its place.
My best Hermes Agent setup post walks through that first install.
Which Course Should You Pick?
You should pick the AI Profit Boardroom if you want the full stack, an installable Agent OS and coaching.
You should pick AI Money Lab if you want to start free.
You should pick Microsoft's course or the Hugging Face course if you write code and want a structured syllabus.
You should pick Anthropic Academy or DeepLearning.AI if Claude Code, skills and MCP are your focus.
You should pick LangChain Academy if your team already builds on LangGraph.

FAQ: Best AI Agent Course 2026
What is the best AI agent course in 2026?
My pick is the AI Profit Boardroom, and I am open that it is my own community.
It covers agent harnesses, MCP, skills, computer use, memory and the Agent OS, and new training is added as tools ship.
How do I know if an AI agent course is outdated?
Look for a date on the provider's page, then search the syllabus for MCP, skills, computer use, memory and multi-agent work.
A course that only teaches single prompts or raw API calls is teaching the old way.
Which free AI agent course is most up to date?
AI Money Lab is my free pick, and my free YouTube courses cover the Agent OS and Hermes Agent.
Among third-party options, Microsoft's AI Agents for Beginners lists the most 2026 topics, and Anthropic Academy and Hugging Face are also labelled free.
Do these courses show when they were last updated?
DeepLearning.AI prints an updated date on each course page, and the ones I checked ranged from 17 July to 31 August 2026.
The Microsoft and Hugging Face courses live on GitHub, where you can see the latest commit, and the other pages showed no date.
Should a 2026 course teach Hermes Agent or Claude Code?
I use both every day, so my honest answer is that a current course should teach at least one real harness.
The skills carry across, because both use skills, MCP and looping runs.
Did you take every course on this list?
No, and I will not pretend that I did.
I read each third-party provider's public page on 13 October 2026, and I only report what those pages state.
