The best place to start AI SEO training today is my free 262-lesson AI SEO course, and you can get free access to it here.
I'm Julian Goldie, and I've done SEO for over a decade and now run most of it with AI agents.
You came here for training, so this page gives you training rather than a sales pitch.
First I'll show you every place I teach AI SEO, with what is free and what is paid.
Then I'll walk you through the seven-module workflow I actually run, in the order an operator would run it.
You can copy the whole workflow from this page without buying anything.

What Good AI SEO Training Should Actually Teach
Most AI SEO training teaches prompts.
Prompts are the smallest part of the job.
Good AI SEO training teaches a workflow, which means a set of steps you can repeat every week without thinking.
My workflow has seven modules, and each one hands its output to the next.
| Module | The job | The output |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Keyword research | You find keywords you can win using AI and Search Console. | A short list of winnable keywords |
| 2. Search intent | You match the page format to what the searcher wants. | A page outline |
| 3. Writing with AI | You ground the draft in real work and run quality checks. | A checked article |
| 4. AEO and AI citations | You shape answers so AI search can quote them. | Answer-first sections and an FAQ |
| 5. Linking | You wire internal links and links across your own sites. | Day-one links |
| 6. Indexing | You tell Google the page exists straight away. | A crawled page |
| 7. Measuring | You read Search Console weekly and feed the winners back in. | Next week's keyword list |
I'll take you through each module now, with the exact method and a real number from my own sites where I have one.

Module 1: Keyword Research With AI And Search Console
The best keyword tool you own is free, and it is Google Search Console.
Search Console shows you every search your site appeared for, the position you held and whether anyone clicked.
I call the best rows in that report pre-approved keywords.
A pre-approved keyword is a search where you get impressions but almost no clicks, because Google is already showing you without a proper page for it.
In one live run, my keyword skill scored 184 real queries in a single pass.
It flagged striking-distance keywords, low click-through pages and content gaps.
One page was sitting at position 6.3 and earning no clicks, so it was flagged for a rewrite.
On 22 September 2026 my research tab showed 78 striking-distance keywords and 23 click-through leaks across my sites.
Here is how you run this module by hand.
- Open the Search Console performance report and export your queries.
- Paste the rows into Claude or ChatGPT and ask it to group them into three piles.
- Ask for striking-distance keywords, which sit between positions 5 and 20.
- Ask for click-through leaks, which are page-one queries with a very low click rate.
- Ask for content gaps, which are queries with impressions and no dedicated page.
If your site is new and Search Console is empty, you use Google autosuggest instead.
You type your seed topic, then add one letter of the alphabet at a time, and you save every suggestion.
Those suggestions are real searches that people are typing right now.
You also open the People Also Ask box and save the questions, because they become FAQ entries later.
Then you hand the whole list to your AI and ask it to cluster the keywords, label the intent and sort them by difficulty.
I check each keyword by googling it and looking at page one for sixty seconds.
A forum thread, a passing mention, an outdated page or a thin page on page one tells me the door is open.
A wall of big brands with pages built for that exact keyword tells me to walk away.
Module 2: Matching Search Intent Before You Write
Intent is the step that most AI SEO training skips, and it decides whether the page can rank at all.
Before my agents write a word, the skill file makes them classify the keyword out loud.
| Keyword shape | What the searcher wants | The format I use |
|---|---|---|
| One product or tool name | They want to understand it and use it. | An explainer plus a how-to |
| "Best X" or "top X" | They want to pick from a list. | A ranked list with the answer first |
| "X vs Y" | They want to decide between two things. | A verdict first, then a comparison table |
| "X review" | They want to know if it is any good. | A verdict with tested evidence |
| "How to X" | They want to do the thing. | Numbered steps with the result up top |
The rule under all of them is the same.
You answer the core question on the first screen.
This page is an example, because you searched for AI SEO training and the first line told you where to get it.

Module 3: Writing With AI The Right Way
The wrong way to write with AI is to type "write me an article about X" and publish what comes back.
That gives you the average of the internet, and Google has seen the average of the internet already.
The right way starts with real work.
I record my screen while I test a tool or do a job, and that recording becomes a transcript.
My skill file has one rule at the very top, which is that no transcript means no article.
My pipeline had 82 real transcripts in it when I recorded my spam update guide.
The AI is not allowed to invent a feature, a number or an example that is not in the source.
Then the draft goes through quality control.
My skill file has 13 steps that every article passes before it goes live.
In one recorded test, I planted four problems in a draft, and the check caught all four in about ninety seconds.
One of them was a line that said "300 clicks" when my case study said 278.
Nobody lied in that draft, because I had simply rounded up while talking, and that is exactly the kind of error a fact-check step exists for.
Here is the short version of the writing rules you can copy.
- You put the keyword in the first sentence.
- You phrase headings as questions or full claims.
- You keep every FAQ answer direct and under about fifty words.
- You open with the benefit and skip the warm-up.
- You keep your own opinions and phrasing in the draft.
- You write five different title options and pick the one you would click.
- You read the final page yourself and ask whether you would be proud of it.
Module 4: AEO And Getting Cited In AI Search
AEO stands for answer engine optimisation, and it is the work of getting quoted by AI search features.
Google's own documentation is clear on one point that surprises people.
Google says there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and no special optimisations are necessary.
So the foundation of AEO is ordinary good SEO.
What I add on top is shape.
Every section on my pages answers its question in the opening lines, so the passage still makes sense when it is lifted out alone.
Every page gets an FAQ with tight, self-contained answers.
Every page carries original information from real work, because that is the part an AI cannot find anywhere else.
I also add Article and FAQ schema to every post.
I want to be honest about that step.
Google's guide on generative AI features says structured data is not required for generative AI search.
I still add it because my agents do it in seconds and it labels the page clearly for machines.
You should treat schema as tidy housekeeping rather than a magic switch.
If you want my full take on this topic, read my king of AEO post.

Module 5: Internal Links And Links Across Your Own Sites
Links are still one of the strongest signals in SEO, and AI makes the boring part fast.
Before my agent writes, it scans every existing post on the site.
Each new article then links to two to four older ones, so Google sees depth on a topic instead of scattered pages.
The moment the new article is live, the agent goes back to three to five older related posts.
It adds a small "latest updates" block to each one that links to the new page.
That gives the new page links on day one, and it gives the old pages a freshness update.
I run several sites, so some of those links come from my other properties as well.
This is honest linking between pages I own, and it is very different from buying links or joining link schemes, which break Google's spam policies.
If you want links from other people's sites, my post on AI backlink building services covers the safe ways to do it.
Module 6: Getting Indexed Fast
A page that Google has not crawled cannot rank, however good it is.
On a small site, a new page can sit undiscovered for weeks.
So the last line of my publish step is an indexing push.
The agent submits every new URL the moment it goes live.
The fastest result I've recorded is a brand new page reaching page one of Google in 14 hours.
That is my best case and not a promise, because most pages take longer.
The free version of this step is the URL Inspection tool in Search Console, where you paste the URL and request indexing.
You should also keep a working sitemap, because that is the basic way Google finds new pages.
Module 7: Measuring And Feeding The Loop
Measuring is the module that turns one-off posts into a system.
I check Search Console once a week, and I look for three things.
- I look for gaps, which are pages sitting just off page one that need a fresh section and a few new internal links.
- I look for leaks, which are pages with rising impressions and flat clicks, and nine times out of ten the fix is the title.
- I look for winners, because every keyword that already brings traffic gives me new related keywords to write.
One example from my own data shows why this matters.
The keyword "hermes workspace" had roughly 37,000 impressions across two of my sites and only 307 clicks.
Both pages were already on page one, so the right move was a better title and not a new post.
I would never have found that by guessing.
Your First 30 Days Of AI SEO Training
Here is the plan I would follow if I were starting today.
| Days | What you do | The goal |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 7 | You set up Search Console, start the free course and write your first grounded article. | One article is live. |
| 8 to 14 | You publish two or three more articles, each one built from a recording of real work. | The steps start to feel routine. |
| 15 to 30 | You add the quality checklist, the indexing step and the weekly review. | The loop runs every week. |
I'll be honest about the timeline.
New sites often need three to six months before the traffic graph moves.
One of my own sites stayed flat for about seven months before it climbed.
The wait is the same as it always was, but the work during the wait is far lighter with AI.
What Google's Spam Policies Say About Scaled AI Content
You need to know this rule before you publish anything with AI.
Google's spam policies name something called scaled content abuse.
Google defines it as generating many pages for the primary purpose of manipulating search rankings and not helping users.
One of Google's own examples is using generative AI tools to generate many pages without adding value for users.
Google also says this applies no matter how the content is created.
So the tool is not the problem, and the lack of value is.
Google's AI content guidance says its focus is on the quality of content rather than how content is produced.
That is why every module above starts from real work and ends with a human reading the page.
My Google spam update guide covers what to do if your traffic drops during an update.
Other Reputable AI SEO Training Worth Knowing
I teach this for a living, so weigh my list with that in mind.
These are well-known options from other providers, with only facts I could check on their own pages.
| Provider | What it offers | Cost shown on the page |
|---|---|---|
| Google Search Central | Google publishes the SEO Starter Guide and a guide to optimising for generative AI features. | Free |
| Ahrefs Academy | Ahrefs lists a free Answer Engine Optimization course with 12 lessons and a free SEO course for beginners. | Free courses |
| HubSpot Academy | HubSpot lists AEO Fundamentals as a free certification course of about two hours and twenty minutes. | Free |
| LearningAIsearch.com | This is a free AI search optimisation roadmap curated by Aleyda Solis. | Free |
| Semrush Academy | Semrush offers free online marketing courses and webinars on AI visibility. | Free courses |
Google's own documents are the best place to learn the rules.
The others are good for structured lessons and certificates.
My training is different because it is built around running the work with AI agents every day.
