Claude GEO SEO means using Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, to do the research, analysis and drafting behind generative engine optimisation and classic SEO, while you keep the facts and the final say.

GEO is generative engine optimisation, which is the work of making your business the name that Google AI, Gemini or ChatGPT gives when someone asks a question.

This page is the operator setup, so every section is a step you can run today.

The workflow is the one I show in my latest GEO video, where I go from a Search Console export to a published, case-study-led article.

In that video I run it with Hermes Agent, and I say plainly that you can run the same experiments in Claude and export them, or simply write inside Claude.

If you'd rather have my team look at your site first, book a free one-to-one GEO, AEO AI audit and get a custom game plan.

Claude GEO SEO At A Glance

This table is the whole setup on one screen, so you can see who does what before you start.

Step What you do What Claude does What you check
1 Export Search Console data as a CSV file. Nothing yet, because this is your raw data. The date range covers at least a few months.
2 Paste in the analysis prompt with the file. It finds what's working and suggests AI-search topics. The topics match pages you can genuinely back up.
3 Read the report it builds. It summarises clicks, brand share, non-brand CTR and best pages. The numbers match your Search Console screen.
4 Write or load your SEO skill file. It follows the same recipe on every article. The skill bans invented facts.
5 Add a real case study or transcript. It writes from your experience instead of the internet's average. Every claim traces back to your notes.
6 Ask for the article and the metadata. It drafts the page, title, description, FAQ and schema. The answer sits in the first two lines.
7 Fact-check every line by hand. It can list the claims it made so you can check them. Titles, descriptions, schema and alt text are right too.
8 Publish, then measure weekly. It reads the new data and flags the next wins. Pages sitting just off page one get a refresh.

The rest of this page walks through each row properly.

What Claude GEO SEO Actually Means

Claude is the AI assistant made by Anthropic, and you can use it in the Claude app or in Claude Code, which runs in your terminal.

GEO is generative engine optimisation, and SEO is classic search engine optimisation.

So "Claude GEO SEO" is simply using Claude as the engine that does most of the GEO and SEO legwork for you.

That includes reading your data, spotting topics, drafting answer-first pages, writing FAQs and schema, and preparing a fact-check list.

It does not mean Claude magically decides who ranks.

There's a second meaning people mix up with this one, which is getting your own brand cited inside Claude's answers.

That is a different job with different steps, and I've written it up separately as my Claude AI GEO guide.

Old SEO gave you ten blue links, and if you ranked seventh you still got some clicks.

AI answers usually give a short list of maybe one to three names, so there's no room for number seven.

The AI reads the pages that rank and sums up what they say.

I explain it like five friends recommending the same restaurant, because if five good pages say the same name, the AI repeats that name.

Claude helps you produce those good pages faster, as long as the substance comes from you.

What You Need Before You Start

You don't need a big stack to run Claude GEO SEO.

  • You need a Claude account, either in the app or through Claude Code.
  • You need access to Google Search Console for the site you want to grow.
  • You need a simple log of real things you've tested, delivered or learned in your niche.
  • You need a written SEO skill file, which I'll show you how to build in step four.
  • You need a way to publish, such as WordPress or a static site on Netlify.

Step 1: Export Your Search Console Data

The first step of my Claude GEO SEO workflow is free and takes about two minutes.

Open Google Search Console, go to the Performance report and export the queries and pages to a CSV file.

This is your ground truth, because it shows what Google is already rewarding on your site.

Google's own AI features page says traffic from AI Overviews and AI Mode is counted in Search Console's Performance report under the "Web" search type.

That means your export already contains some AI-feature data, even though it isn't split out for you.

Step 2: Ask Claude What's Actually Working

Next, give the CSV to Claude with one clear question.

This is the prompt I use in the video, word for word.

Can you analyse this and, based on what's actually working, give me keyword and topic ideas to rank inside AI search engines?

The phrase "based on what's actually working" is doing the heavy lifting.

It tells Claude to build on your proven pages instead of inventing trendy topics you have no right to win.

If you use Claude Code, you can point it at the file on your machine instead of uploading it.

Step 3: Read The Report It Builds

In my video, the agent turns the export into a report in the workspace.

It shows total clicks, the brand share of clicks, the non-brand click-through rate and the month's clicks.

It also lists what's working, which on my site was comparison articles, Agent OS topic clusters, free AI community pages and Antigravity and Hermes topics.

Then it gives averages and a verdict on the best pages.

Ask Claude for the same sections, so every report is comparable week to week.

Here's the honest caveat I give in the video.

This is Google organic data, and Google and the AI engines don't yet report AI traffic in a clean, separate way.

So treat the report as a map of what Google trusts you for, which is also where AI answers tend to pull from.

Step 4: Build The SEO Skill Claude Follows

A skill is a written recipe Claude reads before it starts any job.

You write the steps down once, including how to write, what to include and what to never do, and Claude follows that recipe every time.

My own SEO skill is roughly a 100-point checklist, and it writes everything from a case-study angle.

That skill sits inside the AI Profit Boardroom, but you can start your own with ten rules today.

  • The skill should say that every article must be built on a real case study, test or result.
  • The skill should say that if there's no source material, Claude must stop and ask rather than invent.
  • The skill should say that the answer to the search goes in the first two lines.
  • The skill should list the title formulas you want rotated, such as a number plus a result or a question with a payoff.
  • The skill should require an FAQ with short, direct answers and matching FAQ schema.
  • The skill should require two to four internal links to related posts on the same site.
  • The skill should ban guarantees, invented numbers and made-up quotes.
  • The skill should require a list of every factual claim for a human to check.
  • The skill should set your voice, spelling and formatting rules.
  • The skill should say where the finished file goes and how it gets published.

The "stop and ask" rule is the one that saves you, because it stops Claude filling gaps with guesses.

Step 5: Feed Claude Real Experience

This is the step that makes Claude GEO SEO work instead of producing everyone else's article.

If you type "write an article about SEO", you get the average of the internet.

If you give Claude your own test, your numbers and your mistakes, you get a page nobody else can copy.

The way I do it is simple, because I record my screen while I do real work and talk through it.

Every recording becomes a text file in a transcript folder that Claude can read.

Then I pick a keyword, pick the matching transcript, and the article gets written from it.

Your case study is simply whatever you work on day to day, and in the video I say you can run your experiments in Claude and export them, or write the article inside Claude.

AI Mode describes me as widely recognised as a top practitioner because of public testing and deployment, which shows why this matters.

To be named the expert, you have to show you've actually done the thing.

Here's my walkthrough of the Claude side of this workflow in more detail.

Step 6: Ask Claude For The Article And Metadata

Now you ask for the page itself.

This is the shape of the demo prompt I use in the video, with your own keyword and site swapped in.

Create an SEO article using your SEO skill and the keyword "GEO examples" and publish to aiprofitboardroom.com.

In my video the agent has the SEO skill plus access to my sites through WordPress and Netlify, so it publishes directly.

If you're new to this, I'd ask Claude to save a draft first and publish only after step seven.

Ask for the title, meta description, FAQ, FAQ schema and image alt text in the same run, because those all need checking too.

Step 7: Fact-Check Every Line By Hand

Google updated its page on using generative AI content on 1 October 2026.

It says it's "critical to manually factcheck and review all AI-generated content" before publishing.

The same page says that review covers metadata like title elements, meta descriptions, structured data and image alt text.

It also explains that generative models predict likely words rather than retrieving facts, which is why they sometimes make things up.

So here's the fact-check routine I'd give any operator.

  1. Ask Claude to list every number, name, date, price and quote in the draft.
  2. Check each item against your notes, your screen or the original source.
  3. Delete anything you can't verify instead of softening it.
  4. Read the title, description, schema and alt text out loud, because errors hide there.
  5. Only then publish or approve the agent's publish step.

Case-study content is much easier to check, because you were there when it happened.

I'm adding a manual fact-checking list to the AI Profit Boardroom after this Google update for exactly that reason.

📞 Not sure your AI content would pass a fact-check? Grab a free AEO SEO strategy session and we'll show you where your pages are strong and where competitors are being named instead. → Book the free call

Step 8: Publish, Measure And Loop Weekly

Publishing is the start of the loop, not the end.

Each week, export fresh Search Console data and give it back to Claude with last week's report.

Ask it to flag pages sitting around positions 8 to 15, because Google already likes them but hasn't committed yet.

A fresh section, a new case study and a few new internal links are often enough to move those pages.

Then search your most important buyer questions in Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and the other AI tools your customers use, and note who gets named.

At the end of each batch, ask Claude what worked, which titles got clicked and which pages moved, then write those lessons back into the skill file.

How Claude GEO SEO Maps To My Three Moves

I call my GEO system the answer engine, and it has three moves.

Move What it means Where Claude helps
Be the source Every page carries a real case study, test or result. Claude turns your transcript or test notes into an answer-first page.
Be everywhere Several sites and platforms point to the same answer from different angles. Claude drafts a different angle for each site or platform from the same case study.
Be first You publish within 24 hours of a topic appearing. Claude drafts the first page fast while you check the facts.

When Jev AI dropped, I published on searches like "Jev architecture" and "Jev waitlist" that same weekend.

That's the be-first move, and Claude makes it realistic for a small team.

What This Workflow Has Done On My Own Screens

I'll share my own numbers, and I'll be clear that they're mine and not a forecast for you.

In my latest GEO video, my content appears in Google's AI answer at the top for "best geo expert" and ranks first organically too.

When I ask AI Mode for the best GEO experts to follow in 2026, it lists me first and links to my sites.

One of my sites went from zero to more than 1,300 clicks a day, and two other sites are on the same trajectory.

My Claude AI SEO rank #1 guide shows another site going from zero to 278 clicks a day.

Nobody can guarantee what an AI answer will say, and that includes me.

Limits You Should Know

Claude is a brilliant assistant, but it isn't a source of truth.

  • Claude can state wrong facts confidently, so a human fact-check is non-negotiable.
  • Claude only knows your business through what you give it, so thin input gives thin pages.
  • Search Console doesn't separate AI traffic cleanly yet, so measurement takes some manual checking.
  • Publishing directly from an agent is fast, but it's safer to approve drafts until your skill is proven.
  • AI answers change, so a page that gets named today can be dropped next month.

FAQ: Claude GEO SEO

What is Claude GEO SEO?

Claude GEO SEO means using Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, to do the research, analysis and drafting behind generative engine optimisation and classic SEO.

You supply the real data and case studies, and you fact-check everything before it goes live.

What data do I give Claude for GEO SEO?

I start with a free Google Search Console export as a CSV file.

Claude analyses what's already working and suggests keyword and topic ideas to rank inside AI search engines.

Can Claude publish the articles for me?

In my video the agent publishes directly once it has an SEO skill and access to the site.

I still recommend a human fact-check of every page first, because Google says that review is critical.

Does Google penalise content written with Claude?

Google's guidance focuses on quality and accuracy rather than how content is made.

Its 1 October 2026 update says it's critical to manually fact-check and review all AI-generated content, including titles, descriptions, structured data and alt text.

Is Claude GEO SEO the same as getting cited by Claude?

No, because Claude GEO SEO uses Claude as your tool to do the work.

Getting your brand named inside Claude's own answers is a separate job, which I cover in my Claude AI GEO guide.

Can anyone guarantee AI search rankings with Claude?

No, because nobody can guarantee what an AI answer will say.

The results I share are from my own screens and are proof the method can work, not a promise.
