Hark Pro is a free personal AI agent from Hark Labs that connects to your email and apps, remembers your life, and does real jobs on its own cloud computer.
It launched on 6 October 2026, and I signed up on the free plan to test it on camera the day I recorded my video.
The questions I keep getting are practical ones.
How do I set Hark Pro up properly, what do the paid plans actually add, and how do I stop it from burning through my usage or my money?
This post is the operator's answer to all three.
I'll walk you through the setup in order, show you every feature I tested, and give you the rules I'd put in place before you ever think about upgrading.
What Is Hark Pro?
Hark Pro is the app Hark Labs calls "the operating system for your life".
It looks like a calm messaging app, but behind the chat it has three working parts.
The first part is memory, because Hark remembers what you tell it, learns your preferences and forgets things when you ask it to.
The second part is Handoff, which is Hark's own cloud computer that signs in to websites and finishes tasks like purchases and forms for you.
The third part is proactive thinking, which means it suggests the next job before you've asked for it.
When I first opened it, my honest reaction was that it feels like the Apple of AI agents.
It's so clean that it felt like what Apple should have released.
You can use Hark Pro on the web at hark.com, or download the Hark Pro app on iOS and Android.
Who Makes Hark Pro And What Does It Cost?
Hark Pro is made by Hark Labs, Inc., which is based in San Jose, California, according to its terms of service.
The company was founded by Brett Adcock, who also founded the robotics company Figure and the air taxi company Archer Aviation.
Hark announced a $700 million funding round in May 2026, and it launched Hark Pro on 6 October 2026.
Here's the pricing, taken straight from Hark's own pricing page.
| Plan | Price | Usage | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hark Pro | Free | It gives you the base usage allowance. | You get every feature, with no ads. |
| Hark Pro² | $20 a month | It gives you 2x more usage. | You get the same features with double the room. |
| Hark Pro³ | $100 a month | It gives you 10x more usage. | You get the same features with ten times the room. |
The line that matters most on that page is that all features are offered in all plans, and upgrading only increases usage.
That changes how you should think about the paid tiers.
You're never paying to unlock Panels, Projects or Handoff, because you already have them for free.
You're only paying for more runway.
What Problem Does Hark Pro Solve?
Most of us lose hours every week to tiny admin jobs.
Booking a table, chasing a delivery, paying a bill, planning a trip and digging through email all eat your attention in small bites.
Chatbots could tell you how to do those jobs, but you still had to do every click yourself.
Hark Pro is built to do the clicks.
It reads your inbox, notices what needs doing, asks you a yes or no, and then goes and does it on its own computer.
That's the shift from an assistant that talks to an agent that acts.

How To Set Up Hark Pro: Step By Step
The whole setup took me a few minutes, but the order matters, so here it is.
Step 1: Create your account
Go to hark.com or download the Hark Pro app from the App Store or Google Play.
You can sign up with Google, with Apple, or with an email address.
Hark's terms say you need to be at least 18, or the legal age where you live if that's higher.
Step 2: Connect your email first
Hark recommends connecting your email before anything else, and I'd follow that advice.
I connected my Gmail, and that one connection is what lets Hark build a picture of your life and send messages for you.
Hark also says it connects to Google and Outlook through their APIs, and its guide lists direct Services for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
Step 3: Check the details it pulls in
Once your email is connected, Hark shows you the details it has worked out, such as your location.
Check these properly, because every suggestion it makes later is built on them.
Step 4: Answer its opening question
Hark then greeted me with, "Hi Julian. What's one thing on your plate this week I could take off?"
It suggests things like booking a trip, a dinner reservation or an appointment.
Give it a real job here, because a real job teaches you far more than a test prompt.
Step 5: Connect the apps you actually use
In my test, Hark offered Gmail, Slack, GitHub, LinkedIn, Notion, Amazon and PayPal.
Hark also says it can use the open MCP standard to reach other tools.
Only connect what you'll use this week, because every extra connection is one more thing it can act on.
Step 6: Decide about your wallet last
You can add your wallet so Hark can pay for things.
Cards and passwords go into an encrypted vault called Secured by Hark, and Hark says even its own team can't see inside it.
I'd still leave this step until you've watched Hark finish a few jobs correctly.
Step 7: Set your first scheduled task
Ask Hark in chat to do something on a schedule, such as a weekly reminder or a daily check.
That task then appears in the Scheduled Tasks section, where you can manage everything you've set up in chat.
Your First Real Hark Pro Job: The Restaurant Test
The first job I gave it was simple.
I typed, "Book an Italian restaurant for Wednesday next week."
Hark asked me how many people were coming and what time I wanted.
I replied "6pm, two people" with a typo in it, and it still understood me perfectly.
Then it started booking one of my favourite restaurants on its own computer screen, and I could watch it work.
I told it to stop before it completed, because I was only testing.
That moment taught me two things.
First, Hark really will go and act for you, so this isn't a demo toy.
Second, you need to be watching the first few times, because it moves fast.
Connected apps also work directly inside Hark's own computer, which is easier than Grok Bot, where I often had to log in again through its computer to give it screen access.

How To Use Every Hark Pro Feature
Here's every feature I tested, plus the extras Hark's own "Using Hark" guide lists.
| Feature | What it does | Operator tip |
|---|---|---|
| Chat | It's one persistent thread where you ask for anything and where Handoffs happen. | Talk to it normally, because it doesn't need special commands. |
| Handoff | It's a cloud computer that signs in to websites and completes tasks. | Watch the first few runs until you trust it. |
| Home | It's your screen of spaces, Panels and Action Buttons. | Keep it lean so it stays useful. |
| Panels | They're mini apps you create by typing what you want. | Use "Reply" on a Panel to redesign it. |
| Action Buttons | They're one-tap cards, such as paying a bill or cancelling a subscription. | Read the card before you tap it. |
| Projects | They're dedicated threads that store files for long-horizon work. | Give each big job its own Project. |
| Proactive inbox | It reads your email and proposes action items. | Answer yes or no quickly so it learns. |
| Side prompts and "show" | They offer quick commands like "quiet this" and pull items into the chat. | Use them to tidy noise fast. |
| Attachments and voice | It accepts files and voice input. | Remember that it doesn't talk back. |
| Scheduled tasks | It manages every recurring job you set up in chat. | Review the list every week. |
| Specialties | It memorises multi-step workflows you repeat. | Teach it the jobs you do every week. |
| Memory | It learns from your conversations over time. | Ask it to forget anything you don't want stored. |
Home, Panels and Action Buttons
Home is the screen you'll live on.
It pulls together spaces, Panels and Action Buttons, and you can even pay bills from it.
To make a Panel, you just say "create a new panel" and type what you want.
When I asked for one to track my productivity, Hark asked whether I meant meeting hours versus focus time, or my to-do tasks.
It also offered to connect ClickUp or Asana to power it.
The example Panels I saw covered calendar events, Shopify packages arriving this week and new podcast episodes from Apple Podcasts.
You could build the same thing for fitness, workouts or calorie tracking.
Projects
Projects are for jobs that are too long for a normal chat.
Each one is a dedicated thread that keeps its own files together.
I'd use one for planning a big event or for tracking a single work topic over several weeks.
Proactive inbox and Prep my day
The proactive inbox reads your emails and proposes action items, and you just say yes or no.
"Prep my day" goes a step further and checks your calendar and inbox to build the day's itinerary.
The example I saw said, "Your inbox is clean. Do you want me to pull in the sales numbers before your team sales meeting at 4 p.m.?"
That's the feature I'd open every morning.
Side prompts, voice and attachments
Prompts sit on the side of the screen, with quick options like "quiet this" and "close this notification".
Special functions like "show" pull things straight into the chat.
You can add attachments and talk to it with voice, but it doesn't speak back, so voice is input only.
Trip planning
Trip planning shows off Handoff best.
Hark can find camping spots, write a packing list, tell you when to leave and book the flights.

How To Get The Most From Your Hark Pro Usage
Because every plan has the same features, the real skill with Hark Pro is spending your usage well.
Here's how I'd run it as an operator.
- Start on the free plan for at least a week so you learn what a normal week of usage looks like for you.
- Batch small requests into one message, because one clear request is cheaper than five vague ones.
- Turn jobs you repeat into Specialties so Hark doesn't relearn them every time.
- Use scheduled tasks for routine checks instead of asking manually each day.
- Keep Handoff for jobs that genuinely need a browser, and use plain chat for questions.
- If you switch on auto top-up, set a spending ceiling first, which is exactly what Hark's own guide recommends.
Hark's terms explain the mechanics.
Each subscription includes a usage allowance, and if you go over it, Hark may offer paid Top-Ups.
Automatic Top-Ups only happen if you turn them on, and unused Top-Ups aren't refundable unless your local law says so.
When Should You Upgrade To Hark Pro² Or Pro³?
My rule is simple.
Stay on the free Hark Pro plan until you hit the usage limit in a normal week, not a test week.
If you hit it every week, Hark Pro² at $20 a month doubles your room, and that's the sensible next step.
Hark Pro³ at $100 a month gives you ten times the usage, which only makes sense if Hark is running a big chunk of your life admin every day.
Hark's pricing page describes the $20 plan as enough for something like 40 organic produce deliveries, and the $100 plan as enough to plan 50 weddings.
Those are Hark's illustrations rather than hard limits, but they give you a feel for the scale.
| Your situation | My pick |
|---|---|
| You're testing it or using it a few times a week. | Stay on free Hark Pro. |
| You hit the free limit in a normal week. | Move to Hark Pro² at $20 a month. |
| Hark runs your bookings, bills and inbox every day. | Consider Hark Pro³ at $100 a month. |
| You keep needing extra room only now and then. | Use capped Top-Ups instead of a bigger plan. |
The Approval Rules I'd Set Before Hark Pro Touches Money
Hark's terms are clear that when you ask it to buy, book or pay, you're authorising it to act as your agent.
They also say Hark will ask you to confirm before spending your money, unless you tell it otherwise.
Here are the rules I'd set.
- Keep confirmations on for every booking and payment until Hark has finished several jobs correctly in front of you.
- Only grant standing permission for a small, low-risk category, because the terms count every transaction in that category as authorised by you.
- Remember that Hark isn't the merchant of record, so refunds and chargebacks go through the shop or your card issuer.
- Add your wallet last, after your email, apps and Panels are working.
On privacy, Hark says it will never sell your data or share it with advertisers, and that you can always delete it.
Its privacy policy says it doesn't use your inputs, outputs, memory or connected account data to train AI models.
You can also ask Hark to forget a specific memory whenever you want.
Hark Pro Limits You Should Know
Hark Pro is polished, but it isn't magic, so here are the limits I'd plan around.
- It doesn't speak back, because voice is input only.
- It doesn't let you choose the model behind it.
- It's built around your personal life admin, not around client work or content production.
- It can act on your real accounts, so a vague instruction can turn into a real booking.
- Hark says it's designing its own hardware, which isn't out yet.
A viewer asked me a fair question under the video.
They listed Hermes, Muse, Dots, Grok, OpenBot and now Hark, and asked whether the differences are big enough to set everything up from scratch again.
My honest answer is that you shouldn't switch just because something is new.
Switch only when one agent does a real job you need better than the one you already run.
If you've never had a personal agent working for you, Hark Pro is the easiest one I've set up.
